UK Credit Controller / Accounts Assistant

Location: White City, West London
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Your Role as UK Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant:

You will play a critical role in overseeing the UK credit control function, ensuring effective management of accounts receivable and supporting a strong financial control environment. Working closely with the UK finance team, Commercial and SIOP teams, you will help drive efficiencies and contribute to the overall financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile the aged debt report and customer accounts
  • Allocate customer payments and reconcile with bank statements
  • Monitor and manage customer credit limits, including approvals
  • Set up new customer accounts and process invoices, credit and debit notes
  • Take ownership of accounts receivable in cash flow forecasting
  • Collect overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Resolve customer queries and disputes professionally
  • Partner with sales teams on rebates and other commercial matters
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve issues and raise credits
  • Review accounts on hold and take appropriate action
  • Attend and contribute to weekly aged debt review meetings
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Support ad-hoc finance initiatives, including data analysis and journal processing

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with accounting systems (ideally Infor M3)
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with ownership and accountability
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Collaborative approach with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
